Encounters in a colorful education sector
This year's didacta trade fair took place in Stuttgart from February 11-15. At our booth, we showcased our school furniture for the whole day and presented an innovative new product with our FLEXCHARGE system.
Learning landscape for all-day elementary school
Our booth covered 240 square meters and featured a learning landscape with a variety of zones, including table groups for focused learning, work islands for cooperative work and sofa combinations for relaxing breaks. With this concept, we showed how learning space design can meet the needs of children in all-day elementary school. Our upholstered furniture such as beanbags, floor mats and sofas, which create comfortable places to relax in all-day care, were particularly popular.
The guests who visited us at our stand were as diverse as the school furniture. They came to us from all over the world - from Munich to Mexico - and with a wide variety of concerns. With a coffee in their hand and our team at their side, they were able to try out the school furniture and mentally project it onto their own spaces.
launch of the A2S FLEXCHARGE® system
Our new product celebrated its first appearance at didacta: the FLEXCHARGE system simplifies digital learning by bringing power to every learning station with mobile battery chargers - thus enabling devices to be charged while learning. didacta also marked the opening of the Webshop through which the FLEXCHARGE system is available.
This concept was very well received by the visitors, says our Managing Director Silke Stegner: "Many visitors said that they were thinking about structural measures for more sockets in the classroom. As a simpler and cheaper solution, the FLEXCHARGE system naturally went down well with them." She adds: "The well thought-out details were also a plus for many, such as the fact that the battery chargers can be clamped or hung on the school desk - this simply saves space on the desk surface."
Lecture on neurodidactic learning space design
Didacta was framed by an extensive program of presentations, panel discussions and workshops. In a presentation entitled "The third pedagogue - neurodidactic learning space design", our project partners Jaqueline Fuhrmann and Tommy Janota explained how they are redesigning the rooms at their vocational college with our support.
In doing so, they have observed that furnishings that meet their needs not only increase concentration and well-being, but also the learners' sense of responsibility: for example, they took the initiative to purchase a doormat to protect the room. You can read more about this in their publication series"The third pedagogue - neurodidactic learning space design".
Versatile impulses at Europe's largest education fair
As Europe's largest education trade fair, this year's didacta was once again a colorful meeting place for the world of education. Almost 60,000 visitors were able to discover a wide variety of solutions in the five exhibition halls: from apps to highlighters, from textbooks to student chairs. Next year, didacta will open its doors again in Cologne - from March 10 to 14, 2026.
