EV. FIRSTWALD HIGH SCHOOL KUSTERDINGEN

BUILDING

Ev. Firstwald-Gymnasium Kusterdingen, 2015

Project

Expansion of the Kusterdingen campus with a school building whose ground floor is an indoor courtyard which can be used multifunctionally.

Concept

As a masonry building, the massive structure stands for sustainable building. The open atrium is the center around which all rooms are grouped. All common areas such as the cafeteria, library and music hall are located on the ground floor. All general classes and conference rooms are located on the first floor. On the second floor are the subject rooms, the teachers' area and the administrative offices.

EQUIPMENT

Interior Design Concept

The light and linear design of the furnishings in white and light gray is restrained and blends harmoniously with the building concept in terms of materiality and color. Its flexibility allows for a fluid change between the different forms of learning. Whether in the traditional classroom, at the round seating groups in the open learning area, in the cafeteria or at one of the private workstations in the side corridor - from groups to individual students, everyone will find the right learning setting. Flexible furniture allows the cafeteria to be quickly and easily transformed into a theater hall or event space.

Sustainability

Quality, made in Germany. Products that will shape future generations require responsibility in the use of resources. Short production routes, no use of solvents and tropical woods, as well as the exceeding of required legal standards have already earned A2S numerous seals of approval and certificates.
